Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can I book?

A: If you are an agent or a group leader booking for a group of children, please get in touch with our Kings Summer team at enquiries@kingssummer.com.

If you are booking for individual students, please use our online booking form. It is a safe and quick way to apply.

If you prefer not to use the online booking form, you can download the application form, fill it in and then email it back to us at enquiries@kingssummer.com.

Q: How do I pay?

A: If you are an agent or a group leader booking and paying for a larger group of people, please get in touch with our Kings Summer team at enquiries@kingssummer.com.

If you are booking online for individual students, we now have an integrated system which will e-mail the customer requesting payment details.

A deposit payment is required at the time of booking and the remaining fees are due 4 weeks before the start of the course.

Q: How many different nationalities are there at the centres?

A: Nationality mix varies depending on location but we always aim to ensure a good nationality mix at all our centres.

Each year we welcome students from Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Poland, Serbia, Korea, Brazil, Japan and the Middle East and many other nationalities across our different locations.

Q: I am going to a Vacation Extra Centre and I am staying with a host family. How far are the host families?

A: Host families in the UK are up to a 30-minute walk from the Vacation Extra centres, or a short bus ride.

Q: Can I change my host family?

A: If you would like to change the host family you have been assigned, you will need to speak to our accommodation departments. They will listen to your request and if they cannot find a solution to your problem, they will suggest another host family.

Q: Can I request a twin bedroom in the Vacation Extra Centre residences, if I am travelling alone?

A: Yes, a twin room can be requested but is subject to availability.

Room requests should be made at the time of booking.

Q: Can I request a single, twin or dorm bedroom at Kings Residential Summer Centres?

A: Yes, depending upon location and subject to availability.

Most Residential Summer Centres offer single or twin room accommodation and some of our Summer Centres have dorms which can accommodate up to 6 students.

Room requests should be made at the time of booking.

Q: How many students share a bathroom at Kings Residential Summer Centres?

A: In most of our Residential Summer Centres, bathrooms are shared by 6–8 students. For details of each centre, please enquire.

Q: Is an internet connection provided?

A: Internet access is provided for students at all of our locations.

Q: What happens if I don't get my visa?

A: For UK-bound students: If a student’s visa is refused, they should send us a copy of the visa refusal letter. On receipt of this letter, fees and deposit will be refunded minus the £75 enrolment fee, and minus any bank charges.

For USA-bound students: If a student’s visa is refused, they should send us a copy of the visa refusal letter. On receipt of this letter, all fees and the $165 enrolment fee will be refunded.

Q: I am a group leader. Do I go free or do I have to pay?

A: Usually group leaders go free but it depends on the size of the group so please submit an enquiry detailing where you want to go, how many students and what age they are if you are organising the trip yourself.

If you are accompanying a group booked by an agent, please speak to the agent.

Q: Will I get a certificate at the end of my course?

A: Yes, all students receive an end-of-course certificate subject to satisfactory attendance and participation in classes and on activities/excursions.

Q: Are all the teachers qualified?

A: Our teachers have qualifications and experience suitable for our students' learning needs (many of our teachers usually have a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL). All teachers are native speakers or of native speaker competence.

Q: How much pocket money do students need for their stay?

A: For Residential Summer Centre students we recommend approximately £/$100 per week if they want to spend money on shopping trips.

Students attending our Vacation Extra centres may require additional money for extra excursions or activities.

These amounts are just guidelines and many students bring more or less than this.

Q: Is an airport transfer included in the price?

A: No it isn't included in the course. It is a supplementary fee. Prices can be seen on the Prices and booking page.

It is compulsory for all under 16s to book an arrival and departure airport transfer with Kings unless accompanied by a designated adult.

Q: Can I arrive or depart on any day?

A: The arrival and departure days vary by location. Please refer to the specific location information for details.

Please contact Kings Summer at enquiries@kingssummer.com with any questions relating to arrival and departure.

Q: What should I pack?

A: Upon confirmation of your booking you will receive a Pre-Arrival document which contains a list of everything that you should bring with you.

We do recommend all students bring two towels and toiletries, travel adaptors, a padlock and local currency (£ or $) with them.

Q: I am using an iPad and the pdf form is not working for me, how do I fill it in?

A: Support of interactive pdfs is still patchy on iPad but you can download free apps which allow you to display our interactive enrolment form from the App Store. One of them is PDF Reader Lite.
