Extending the (frozen) hand of friendship to UWS

Kings Oxford has recently welcomed students on to the Intensive Academic summer programme, which offers the opportunity to combine academic English with a variety of academic courses including Maths, Science, Philosophy, Art and Politics.

Students also study Business and ICT and this year demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills whilst raising funds for United World Schools, the charity which Kings supports, which builds and sustains new schools in some of the world's most disadvantaged regions. In partnership with UWS, Kings has so far built two schools in rural Cambodia.

Working in two teams, applying their newly acquired knowledge of the Marketing Mix, students competed to raise as much money as possible within two weeks. One team made and sold friendship bracelets whilst the other bought ice creams and sold them at a profit.

Both enterprises were very successful and sold out! Well done to everyone involved.

Pictured are some of the students' friendship bracelets.
