Second term flew by so quickly. Actually, what I have noticed is that the older you get, the faster time flies. At least it seems like that for me. However, to be perfectly honest with you, my second term was less stressful than the first. Actually, only at the beginning, because we were given a huge project to do towards the end of term. I guess our teachers and lecturers wanted to thank us for our “active” work during their lectures by giving us such a “present”
March and April 2011 and we’ve been catching up with our former Kings students as they continue their educational journeys at universities around the UK.
Life after Kings at a top UK university
From the beautiful coastline of Scotland to the bustle of central London, our students have really gone from strength to strength since setting out of their university adventures. Check out the photos on the Kings Facebook page. Don’t forget to leave a comment if you recognise anyone!
It has been a long time since my last entry and since then I’ve completed exams, travelled home, visited my grandparents and taken an exciting trip to Cuba!
Cuba was just amazing!
The beginning of summer 2010 was full of academic books, lecture notes and revision guides as we prepared for our final exams. I stayed on campus until the very end of our academic year in order to receive my results and, I must say, this is when my summer actually started – from the moment I got my results in my hands. Looking at the date of my last entry it seems I have disappeared somewhere! It’s all because of a very intense exam period: I had eight exams to sit and I am glad I survived. Those were really crazy times. If you wanted to get a space in the library, you needed to make your way there early in the morning, as early as 8am.
That’s because most undergraduates (mostly first year) students were sitting their exams. I guess I am on that list of students who find it impossible to study in their room as things like laptop/internet are very distracting for me. (more…)
I guess every student is desperate for a break during studies. Easter holidays at Warwick uni are quite long – five entire weeks! The idea of spending the whole holiday back home seemed a little bit boring for me, furthermore, these holidays coincide with the traditional Kazakh New Year Navruz period and we were invited to a special event organised by the Kazakh Society in Manchester.
So before our trip back to Kazakhstan (on 23rd of March) me and my friends decided to go there, meet our old and new friends and just to have a good time. I hate packing in a rush, but this is what I had to do: right after the lectures I hurried to my room in order to pack my stuff.
