Strawberries and cream, Champagne on Henman Hill (or should that be Murray Mount?), Centre Court, the Williams sisters, rain! It can only mean one thing…Wimbledon!!

The start of the summer term at Kings London brings the start of the oldest tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon. It’s been going since 1877 and is now the world’s only remaining major grass-court tennis venue. It’s also time to start my tennis practice again. I play against my friend and colleague, Gaston, who, due to an unexplained wrist injury, had to pull out of last year’s practice. Personally, I think he was just afraid that I was going to beat him! Have you ever tried ‘glamping’?

Well, things have certainly got busier of late in the Archer household. My wife, Anisa, is now six and a half months pregnant and we are busy getting our flat ready for the new addition. It’s all very exciting! Shelves are going up, rooms are being cleared and we’ve bought all kinds of new equipment for the little one – some of which, I admit, I have no idea for what purpose! A busy summer and lots of good times are ahead I’m sure. (more…)
