Vacation Extra Centre



Our Summer Centre in Oxford takes place at Kings’ year-round campus for academic preparation, St. Josephs. Here, students have access to a range of on-site facilities, including a large student cafeteria, an outside patio, and large well-equipped classrooms and resource areas. St. Josephs is located in a quiet residential area of the city but with local amenities including a library, swimming pool, gym and shops all within easy walking distance.

Intensive Academic

27 hours of lessons per week of academic English, a range of academic subjects and IELTS preparation. Students also have a programme of excursions and university counselling sessions.

Off-site student residence

  • Less than 5 minutes’ walk from the school
  • Single rooms in self-contained apartments of 6 study bedrooms — each with 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms and a telephone
  • On-site warden
  • Laundry facilities on site
  • Garden and TV lounge for communal use
  • Available from 25 June to 13 August 2017


  • Standard twin or single rooms available
  • Most host families are a short walk or bus ride from the Summer Centre. Students make their own way there
  • All hosts are carefully selected and inspected by the Kings Accommodation Manager
  • Students under 16 are not given a house key
  • Maximum 3-week stay for under 16s

Meal plan

Full-board meal plan is included in the price. Breakfast and dinner are provided every day either in the homestay or in the school cafeteria (for students in the residence). Lunch is available at the school cafeteria, or as a packed lunch on excursion days.

Evening curfew

Please note that there are curfews in place for all students: Students aged under 16 must return to their homestay or residence by 21.30 every evening. Students aged 16–17 must return to their homestay or residence by 22.30 every evening.
