London - a great place to learn the English language
In the second part of the new series of blogs, a Kings London student talks about her experiences in London.
My name is Vivian and I come from a small town called Schlossrued in Switzerland. It’s a very hilly place with lots of valleys, farms and open space. This is the first time I’ve been to England, so I really didn’t know what to expect, but so far it has been very interesting.

The sad news of the recent events in Japan has shocked us all. At Kings Oxford we currently have several students from Japan, one of which, Momoko Miyahara, has family affected by the disaster. Momo wanted to do something to help raise money for those, like her family, who have been directly affected. The students all got together to think of some fundraising ideas, and eventfully decided that a cake sale would be a fun way to get people involved in helping the cause.

Momo at Kings Oxford
Both teachers and students got busy baking at home and bought in a fantastic array of tasty treats! There were collections of cupcakes, countless cookies, baskets of brownies and all sorts of other delicious delights. We are proud to say that that Momo has helped to raise an amazing £667.20 from the cake sales at Kings Oxford!
Momo says, “I’m really sad about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I just wanted to do something for Japan because I’m Japanese. Our prayers are with you. Thanks everyone for your help with the cake sale – ARIGATOU!”.
